Review:
How can Harry involve Murphy in a case that might be protecting her career?  He can't.  While he may hope and pray that a knight of the cross comes in to save him, he has to rely on his own abilities, the power and loyalty of his dog Mouse, and polka loving Butters to save the day.

Book 7 in The Dresden Files does not disappoint!  Go forth and read the rest!

Review: 
Harry's life is about to change drastically when he accepts a case that will get him deeply involved in vampire politics.  Add in a stowaway dog, and learning deep kept secrets about his mother, Margaret Le Fay, and your head will be spinning around as much as Harry's as you try to piece together what is going on.

As always, Butcher doesn't disappoint.  This is book 6, so read on!

Massive overhaul

Hello lovely blog readers!  I do apologize for being gone for so long, but I was set on finishing the rest of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files before continuing with the blog, so that no one spoiled anything else.  Hint: If someone mentions a book or book series you may have read, ask them where they are in the story/series before giving away major plot points that will happen down the road.



This goes for everything, not just books.  Not everyone gets to experience and learn everything at the same pace, and it's important to encourage learning and reading, without giving things away that could make a potential learner or reader decide against finishing something they have started, or believing in something that you don't.

So, I hope to update with all the books I've read since my last post, and will try to keep up to date with what I'm reading from here on out.

Sorry for the Unintentional Temporary Hiatus

I haven't by any stretch of the imagination stopped reading.  Why, then, haven't I updated this blog in a while?  Anyone who has been continuously reading this blog would realize that I have fallen head over heels for The Dresden Files.  Unfortunately, when mentioning that my life was similar to Dresden's (cold showers suck!), someone let a huge spoiler slip.  When the person realized this, their response was simply "Oops.  You should read faster!"  Whether you've read something once, twice, a hundred times, there are still people out there that haven't found/discovered some of your favourite written works.  It's courteous, respectful, and helpful not to give things away, so they can learn things in time.  This is why I don't give spoilers in my reviews.

Needless to say, I've been rushing to finish The Dresden Files so I won't have any more major events spilled before I get to that point.  Meanwhile, I have read several other books in between.  Keep an eye out for new reviews on here as I intend to bring this blog up to date soon!

Review of Love Finds Its Way by Wilhelmina Stolen

Review:
Starting in the home of Callie, the book begins with an incredibly shocking and intimate encounter.  While easily falling enraptured in the fast turning and moving action, one cannot help but wonder what the setting is, when women so obviously were untrained and uneducated about sex.  Although wondering about the setting and time period, the following chapter tells the reader it is 1870, so some things begin to make sense.  Although there seems to be a disparity between names and information that would have been available during that time period versus the present day, the overall story is riveting.

Wilhelmina Stolen is the pseudonym for romance writer, Shannon Hayes. Shannon is a native of Kentucky and makes her home in a small southern town close to the Tennessee line.

During her adolescence, her mother’s free spirited nature became restless causing the family to embark on a slew of adventurous moves across the country. The moves provoked a hunger for adventure and romance and introduced her to a wonderful world of history and beauty.

Review of Campus Killer by Andrew Hess



      Ali Ryan has dreamed of being a hot shot detective that solves high profile cases. Her love for crime novels and police dramas was her inspiration to become a cop, but it was her pushy demeanor and sassy impulsive attitude that earned her the detective promotion she coveted. But is your dream job worth sacrificing the ones you love?

Review:
This is a fast paced book and a quick read.  From the first pages you wonder what type of man the protagonist is, and why he may be doing what he's doing.  While Ali becomes a main character and quite intriguing one finds themselves wondering what the real motive of the killer is, and what could have led him to such extremes.

Author Bio:

Andrew Hess is a resident of Long Island New York who likes to spend much of his time traveling between Long Island, New York City and the Dutchess County areas. In 2011 he debuted with his first book Chamber of Souls, a small book of free verse poetry which depicted the struggles of a man who thought he had everything in the world only to feel like he lost everything after a rough break-up. In 2013, Andrew debuted his novel The Phoenix Blade: Project Justice; the first in The Phoenix Blade series.
